During Florian Silbereisen’s “Schlagerbooom”, pop star Michelle was offered a musical declaration of love by her boyfriend Eric.
With so much passion and emotion, even presenter Florian Silbereisen (43) couldn’t hold back his tears. In his show “Schlagerbooom 2024 – Everything sparkles! Everything glitters!” Eric Philippi (27) dedicated a very special song to his fiancée Michelle (52) on Saturday evening that tells the difficult story of their love.
Michelle surprised by change in show schedule
The pop singer was visibly surprised by Eric’s soulful performance. Immediately after her own stage performance, she took presenter Silbereisen aside and explained that a small thing had changed in the live show’s flow. At this point, Michelle assumed that her partner, who was 25 years her junior, would bring a song from his new album “We’ll Stay” on stage, as he had rehearsed the day before.
“9000 Days” addresses the couple’s age difference
But Silbereisen continued: “He wrote a very special song for you, which is about the 9,000 days that you are ahead of him in life.” He then left the large stage to Eric Philippi, who sat down at a grand piano in a dark suit and intoned the extremely intimate love song “9000 Days”. Silbereisen, aware that this would be an overwhelming moment for Michelle, held the pop singer tightly in his arms from the first note.
The song bluntly takes up the couple’s often critically commented love story, begins with lines like “We knew we were looking for each other and found each other / Found what not everyone understands” and culminates in the chorus with touching words like “I feel infinity / with you every second”.
At the end of his performance, not only Michelle’s and Eric’s faces were flooded with tears, but also Florian Silbereisen’s. The audience rewarded Eric’s courageous and moving performance with enthusiastic applause and much cheering.
Immediately after the show, he posted a recording of his performance and commented on it with the following words: “I feel infinity, in every second with you! And it’s time to finally show everyone how strong our love is and that everything, what was claimed, said or written only made you stronger. Don’t believe evil tongues and make up your own mind. I love you, Michelle.”
