Donald Trump mocks Beyoncé’s appearance at a Harris campaign event, where the singer did not perform.
Donald Trump (78) launched a verbal attack on superstar Beyoncé (43) at a campaign event in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The former US President criticized the singer primarily for not singing at a campaign appearance for Vice President Kamala Harris (60) in Houston, Texas. Trump even falsely claimed that both Beyoncé and Harris were booed at the event.
However, the “Renaissance” interpreter explained during her appearance for Harris that she was not there as an artist, but first and foremost as a mother. A statement that Trump now used for his mockery: “She left the stage without singing a single song,” Trump blasphemed.
Battle of the Celebrities
The attack on Beyoncé is part of a larger dispute over prominent supporters in the current US election campaign. , Harris can count on the support of numerous high-profile stars. In addition to Beyoncé, Eminem (52), Bruce Springsteen (75), Samuel L. Jackson (75), Tyler Perry (55) and Spike Lee (67) are also committed to the Democrat.
For Trump, however, the situation is more complex, according to the report. As a former TV star, he also longs for the recognition of prominent colleagues, according to the New York Times. At the same time, he also uses their widespread rejection to mobilize his base. While the Democrats use celebrity worship to motivate their supporters, Trump uses rejection of the elite.
Singing and mocking
Trump had already railed against Beyoncé’s support for Harris in Traverse City, Michigan, last Friday. By pronouncing the singer’s name in an exaggerated manner, he caused his followers to boo the artist. “Kamala is at a dance party with Beyohnsayyy,” he mocked at the time in a sing-song tone.
