It was quiet about Cora Schumacher for a long time, now the 47-year-old from the day clinic is back on Instagram – and accuses her ex-husband.
It was the dominant theme of the German celebrity summer: After his coming out in July, Ralf Schumacher and his ex-wife Cora fought a public war of the roses. In October, the 47-year-old came forward and announced a break from Instagram, which she has now ended after around four weeks. She has sought therapeutic help and is currently in a day clinic, writes Schumacher: “The events of the last few weeks and months have been very intense, have demanded a lot of strength from me and have left many old wounds and traumas due to the current events and the repeated media smear campaigns ripped open.”
In her message, Schumacher also addresses the hate comments on the Internet. “The many messages and comments that suggested I end my life – all of that took a lot out of me.” The 47-year-old emphasizes that she never had suicidal thoughts, but she felt the consequences of the news. “No matter how strong or professional you are, something like this doesn’t go unnoticed.” However, she assures me that she has not thought about ending her life “neither in 2014 nor today”.
Cora Schumacher: War of the Roses after Ralf’s coming out
Cora and Ralf Schumacher had already separated in 2014, but the War of the Roses flared up again when the Formula 1 driver celebrated his coming out in July and introduced his new partner. Cora Schumacher then claimed that she only found out about his new partner through the posting. Afterwards, both of them repeatedly shared chat histories on social media, Cora Schumacher also made legal mail from her ex-husband and an injunction public.
In January, as a participant in the jungle camp, she tried to protect her ex-husband’s personal rights. “I can’t talk about some things. It’s just not worth it to me anymore,” she said in front of the other participants, but also suggested that her ex-husband didn’t love her. “I married him out of love. I’m not so sure about him,” she explained at the time.
At the end of her marriage, she found out that Ralf “had already had sexual contact with men during our marriage,” she now writes on Instagram. That led to a nervous breakdown. “The experiences during the separation and the subsequent divorce shocked me deeply, and I still have to process these events to this day,” it continues.
She also addresses their son David in her current story. The relationship between the 22-year-old and his mother is complicated. In October, the racing driver spoke publicly for the first time about his parents’ conflict and accused his mother. “I gave my mother the chance several times and tried several times to reconcile with her. Unfortunately, it never worked,” he wrote in an Instagram story at the time. The 22-year-old also reported an alleged suicide attempt: “Unfortunately, my mother has had mental problems for as long as I can remember.”

His mother doesn’t want to let that happen. Understandably, the difficult experiences also left their mark on her son. “Nevertheless, the conclusions that he draws from his memories do not correspond to true events,” Cora Schumacher accuses her son. Schumacher assures us that it is also not true that she filed a complaint against her son.
