The new head of the Argentine Jewish institution won with a strong call for the unity of the local community. He is 45 years old and has an outstanding career in the educational field.
In a close election, the official leader Mauro Berenstein was elected this Tuesday as president of the Delegation of Argentine Israeli Associations (DAIA) after winning the elections with 51.52% of the votes. He obtained 85 votes against his rival Darío Epstein, who obtained 75. Three people voted blank.

“We are just a community and we have to work together. So I ask everyone to commit to aligning ourselves in one thing, which is the Jewish community in Argentina,” Berenstein asked after being elected as president of the DAIA.
Despite his 45 years, Berenstein already has an outstanding career in the educational field of the Jewish community in Argentina. Among other positions, he was president of the Bialik School of Villa Devoto and of the Federation of Argentine Jewish Schools (FEJA), a position he left to assume leadership of the DAIA.

Berenstein’s proposal
The new president of the DAIA won the elections leading the DAIA Community Frontintegrating leaders from various educational, socio-sports and religious institutions of the Jewish community in Argentina.
Berenstein’s proposal focused on modernizing processes, strengthening education and promoting community unity to fight anti-Semitism. His victory means a renewal in the leadership of the DAIA, which seeks to integrate all sectors of the Jewish community in Argentina.
