Laura Wontorra has to celebrate Christmas in advance because she is spending the holiday fulfilling a lifelong dream – all alone.
Laura Wontorra (35) is a busy presenter. But the daughter of sports reporter legend Jörg Wontorra (76) wants to leave all the TV hustle and bustle and the television industry behind, at least for a short while. During a red carpet appearance in Berlin a few days ago, she spoke to “Gala” magazine about the fact that she will soon be fulfilling “a little dream of her life” – for which she is skipping Christmas with her loved ones.
This is a lifelong dream of Laura Wontorra
“I have to celebrate Christmas a little bit in advance because I’m over Christmas this year [und] “I’m on vacation on New Year’s Eve,” says Wontorra in a clip. But it’s not going to the beach, as is popular with so many who want to escape the cold around the holidays. Quite the opposite, in fact. Wontorra happily reports, what is planned: The presenter sets off for Antarctica unaccompanied.
“I think I’m out on the water in Antarctica for 21 days. Alone, all by myself – a little me time,” Wontorra explains further. She’s really looking forward to it. Once there, she wanted to review the year in which a lot had happened.
Wontorra has been a widely seen television face for quite some time. The presenter, born in 1989, initially made a name for herself primarily in the sports sector, but for several years she has also been known for shows such as “Ninja Warrior Germany”, “Grill den Henssler” and “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”.
