The FDP leader and former finance minister wants to give himself some freedom and is talking about investments for his expected child.
FDP leader Christian Lindner (45) does not want to take parental leave after the birth of his expected child next year. “That’s not part of my job,” he told the magazine “Bunte”. However, he wanted to take some freedom. He also emphasized that he and his wife Franca Lehfeldt (35) wanted to “establish themselves as equals as a family.”
Lindner, who wants to run as the top candidate for his party in the new Bundestag election scheduled for February 23, said that his wife is also very busy in her job. At the end of October 2023, Lehfeldt left the news channel Welt TV, which belongs to the Axel Springer media group, and founded a company. The couple has been married since 2022.
He wanted to take out an ETF savings plan for his child, “in which something is paid in monthly by the parents or grandparents,” explained Lindner. “Financing training or studying is a big task for families. This effort becomes a little smaller if you spread it out over a longer period of time.”
