Jeff Baena has died at the age of 47. The screenwriter and director was married to actress Aubrey Plaza.

Born in Miami in 1977, the screenwriter and film director moved to Los Angeles to further his career after graduating from NYU Film School. There he became a production assistant for director and producer Robert Zemeckis (72), and later worked as an assistant editor for author and director David O. Russell (66). Together they wrote the script for “I Heart Huckabees”, a comedy film from 2004. Baena wrote the script for the zombie comedy “Life After Beth” (2014) and directed it for the first time. His wife and then-partner Aubrey Plaza also starred in the film.
He also directed and wrote “The Little Hours” (2017) and Plaza was once again in the cast. He directed the drama “Horse Girl” (2020) and wrote the script together with Alison Brie (42). He also worked with them on the comedy “Spin Me Round” (2022) and Brie and Plaza took on roles.
Jeff Baena had been in a relationship with “Parks and Recreation” actress Aubrey Plaza since 2011. that the two got married.
