What’s worth streaming now – such as the documentary “Blink – Every Moment Counts” on Disney+.

A family wants to fulfill wishes, a wildlife filmmaker wants to refute prejudices and an inspector wants to learn from his mistakes.

“Blink – Every Moment Counts” (Disney+)

Edith and Sébastian know that one day three of their four children will hardly be able to see anything. You suffer from an eye disease that is incurable and in which your vision becomes increasingly poor. A fate that the parents don’t just want to accept. Until then, they want to show their children the world from its most beautiful side and give them unforgettable memories. In March 2022, the family will set off on a trip that will last a year. They want to swim with dolphins, climb mountains, balloon, ride a camel and much more. Their path takes them through Cambodia, China, Ecuador, Namibia, Nepal, South Korea and many other countries. The documentary “Blink – Every Moment Counts” on Disney+ shows her experiences on this very emotional and diverse journey.

“The Secret Life of Animals” (Apple TV+)

Stupid cow or stupid donkey? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! Many animals are highly intelligent and can do extraordinary things. The series “The Secret Life of Animals” on Apple TV+ provides insights into these abilities. For the British BBC Studios nature documentary, the filmmakers observed 77 animal species in 24 countries. You can see a ball spider that uses an unusual trick to mislead its enemies so that it doesn’t get eaten itself. Or a lizard that can walk on water. Or an elephant in the desert that can find water. By the way, there is a prominent speaker in the English original: Hugh Bonneville, known to many as the noble Earl of Grantham in the cult series “Downton Abbey”.

“Commissioner Wisting” (ARD media library)

Nordic Noir: Inspector Wisting (Sven Nordin) solves his cases sensitively, meticulously and relentlessly. Four new episodes of the series from Norway can now be streamed in the ARD media library. The third season is called “Commissioner Wisting: The Mysterious Surf”. What begins with murder and child abduction turns into a dramatic case with unforeseeable, tragic twists for the investigator. Not only as a police officer, but also as a father, the charismatic title hero has to admit painful mistakes and failures. The scripts were based on characters from the Wisting novels by bestselling author Jørn Lier Horst.
