Veronica Ferres and Carsten Maschmeyer glittered at the German Film Ball. The couple is currently going through a difficult time.
Veronica Ferres (59) and Carsten Maschmeyer (65) provided an extra dose of glamor on the red carpet of the German Film Ball. The couple came to the event at the Bayerischer Hof last Saturday matching each other in sparkling outfits. While Ferres shone in a floor-length silver robe with glittering stones, her husband appeared in a dark blue velvet jacket, which was also decorated all over with glitter particles.
“We practiced beforehand whether I would wear the dress and my wife would wear the tuxedo,” Maschmeyer joked about the partner look in an interview with the news agency spot on news. He spontaneously discovered the glittering tuxedo, with which he stood out among the other men in black suits, in a shop window in Munich – and wore it a few weeks ago at the Golden Globes: “My wife said: ‘In America you can be braver, so let’s try it.’ We got a good response, so I thought I’d do it again today.” As a man, the entrepreneur has the advantage of being able to wear the same look multiple times. Veronica Ferres appeared at the prestigious awards ceremony in the USA in another dress, which was also silver.
Distraction from the events in California
In connection with the event in Los Angeles, Carsten Maschmeyer also talked about a sad event. Shortly after the Golden Globes, devastating fires broke out in his second home of Los Angeles, killing several people and thousands of houses. “We were basically lucky. Of course it’s not nice when you get warnings every fifteen minutes that you have to evacuate and then have to pack your bag. I only took medicine, jewelry, most important documents and underwear twice,” recalled he remembers the fire disaster.
So he and his wife fled to Santa Monica to live with their daughter Lilly Krug (23). “I slept on the couch there. We have now made our house available to friends who lost their house. We donated, we supported the fire department,” the investor continued.
While his house was spared, the home of his son Maurice and his family in Pacific Palisades burned down completely. Carsten Maschmeyer doesn’t know what will happen next for him. “At the moment it’s just about them being healthy. They’re fighting in Los Angeles with the poisoned air, with the polluted water. For a bit, as sad as it is, you’re focusing again on what’s really important: health, love, family “You became aware of that very quickly,” emphasized the entrepreneur.
Gathering strength for the new “Lion’s Den” season
Maschmeyer explained that he wanted to distract himself from the dramatic events at the film ball. He’s also gathering strength because he’ll soon be back to filming “The Lion’s Den.” “We meet a lot of friends and interesting people, networking. I’m getting in the mood because I’m starting the ‘Lion’s Den’ again from Monday,” said the TV face, who has been on the founders’ format since 2016.
Every year at the end of the recordings in May he is exhausted, but now he is attacking again. “In January we’ll be hungry again – new prey for lions,” laughed Maschmeyer. An exact broadcast date for the 17th season of the show has not yet been set, but experience shows that new episodes can be expected from April.
