The podium lock at Austria’s slalom drivers this winter also continues after the Ganslernhang classic. The best Austrian on Sunday in Kitzbühel’s World Cup slalom was the sixth. The Carinthian was 0.43 seconds behind the Frenchman Clement Noel, who left the Italian Alex Vinatzer (+0.09) and the Brazilian Lucas Pinheiro Braathen (+0.19) behind in his fourth win of the season. Five Austrians came into the top twelve.
In the first round, increasing rain had made the ice slope a little more gripper, in the second the surface was successfully edited with salt. The race for the top two of the first round ended bitterly: the half -time -wide Steven Amiez from France failed, the leading Timon Haugan from Norway left.
