Working luck for Boris Becker. He had to end Bear Gryll’s new survival show at an early stage.

The conditions were apparently too hard even for the campaign-tested Boris Becker (57): The former tennis star had to throw the towel early when filming the new Netflix show “Bear Hunt-The Celebrity Hunting” (“Celebrity Bear Hunt”), after he had injured himself on the first day. This now revealed production boss Ben Mitchell. In the meantime, his ex-wife Lilly (48) in Australia is preparing to become a jungle queen.

“I survived the prison”

“After the many years of tennis, as expected, Boris is drawn from injuries. This was limited by his mobility,” said Mitchell about the early from the 57-year-old. “He twisted his knee and we didn’t want to risk that he was injured even more seriously. So unfortunately we had to take him out of the show – a shame.”

Becker was still highly motivated before filming. “I survived the prison. Now I want to compare this to the wilderness. It’s about not giving up and standing up again”. Becker was sentenced to two and a half years in prison by a London court at the end of April 2022. In December 2022, he was finally released.

Extreme challenges in Costa Rica

The new show by the well-known survival expert Bear Grylls (50) presents twelve celebrities with extreme challenges. The stars are exposed to the Costa-Rican jungle and not only have to survive in the wilderness, but also to avoid “hunting” by Grylls.

The conditions were so tough that the production reported that a team of survival experts and ambulances had on standby. Anti-poisoning injections in the case of snake bites were also ready. In addition to Becker, Spice Girl Mel B (49), Rugby player Danny Cipriani (37) and designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen (59) are among them. According to Mitchell, the latter even feared a heart attack while filming.

The Holly Willoughby (43) show is moderated. In Great Britain the program starts on February 5. An broadcast date for Germany has not yet been announced.

Lilly Becker on the way to the jungle queen?

While Boris Becker no longer has a chance to win the survival show in Costa Rica victoriously, his ex-wife Lilly shows serious ambitions on the title of the jungle queen. Both were a couple from 2008 to 2018 and have the son Amadeus (14). In the jungle test on Wednesday, Lilly saved the jungle inmates dinner again. In a dreaded meal test, she alone got three stars by swallowing Australian “specialties” such as pig-utteri or pureed bull brain.
