The 75th edition of the Berlinale is pending. The festival audience can look forward to these national and international stars.

From February 13th to 23rd, the 75th edition of the Berlinale will increase in the German state capital. Whether in the race for the golden and the various silver bears or out of competition – this year again numerous national and international stars are expected in Berlin. Everything worth knowing about the upcoming Berlinale.

New management and international jury

The Berlinale is under a new management this year. Instead of the previous leadership duo Carlo Chatrian (53) and Mariëtte Rissenbeek (69), it will be realized for the first time by Tricia Tuttle (55) in 2025. The American is very familiar with the organization of large film festivals, from 2018 to 2022 she steered the fortunes of the London Film Festival.

As usual, a completely new jury will be found again this year to decide on the awarding of the prices. In 2025, the director, screenwriter and producer Todd Haynes (64) received the honor of providing the international jury as president. The Californian has directed films such as “Carol”, “May December” or the Bob-Dylan-Biopic “I’m not there”. The opening program

At the start of the Berlinale, Tom Tykwers (59) will open the festival with Lars Eidinger (49) and Milena Nicolette Krebitz as a world premiere. The drama is shown out of competition.

While the winners of the Golden and Silver Bears still have to be chosen, a winner has already been determined: The Scottish actress and Oscar winner Tilda Swinton (64) will be honored this year with the golden honorary bear for her life’s work. The price is awarded to her at the opening gala in the Berlinale Palace.

The films and stars in competition

19 works are in competition for the golden bear this year. These include Richard Linklaters (64) New film “Blue Moon”, which should ensure international glamor. Well -known besides competition

The upcoming films and stars will not be happy to receive an award. Outside of the competition, however, the Berlinale shows works that could sometimes provide the greatest interest among the audience.
