Alec Baldwin suffers from post -traumatic stress disorder
Alec Baldwin fights almost three and a half years after the deadly “Rust” accident with PTSD. He now made the diagnosis known.
Alec Baldwin no longer has to fear legal consequences for the fatal incident on the set of his Western film “Rust”. Nevertheless, the tragic event, in which a camera woman came to death through his shot, does not let go of the actor emotionally around three and a half years later: he suffers from post -traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The actor and his wife Hilaria make the diagnosis public in the first episode of their new reality show “The Baldwins”.

“This last year was just terrible,” said Baldwin in front of the cameras. “There were moments when I was in bed and thought: ‘Wow, my children. I can’t get up.'” A thought that actually doesn’t see him similar: “I am not at all, in no way I am like that .
Wife Hilaria adds: “Anyone who is close to Alec saw how his mental health went down the stream.” An existing obsessive -compulsive disorder of the actor has worsened, plus a diagnosis with PTSD. “In his darkest moments, he says: ‘If an accident had to happen that day, why am I still there? Why couldn’t it have happened to me?'”
“You wake up in the morning and think: ‘Oh god, why am I woken up?'”, Hilaria Baldwin describes her husband’s mind, who adds: “I’m happier when I sleep as if I’m awake.”
Process against Alec Baldwin was discontinued
The tragic incident occurred at the end of October 2021, when a sharp ball from a revolver that Alec Baldwin had held in his hand, the camera woman Halyna Hutchines (1979–2021) met on the western “Rust” set. The responsible weapon master at the film set, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was sentenced to an 18-month prison sentence in April 2024 for negligent killing.

This punishment also threatened Baldwin, who was also accused of negligent killing. In July 2024, the trial against the actor was surprisingly discontinued and officially completed in December. In January, Baldwin filed a lawsuit against the public prosecutor and the authorities of the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office for “malicious law enforcement”.
The new Reality Show of Baldwins, in which the couple with their seven children together give an insight into their everyday life in weekly episodes, starts next Sunday at the US broadcaster TLC. The broadcast of “The Baldwins” at TLC Germany is planned for spring.
