Elon Musk claims that the bidding government has left two US astronauts on the ISS for months. An experienced astronaut doesn’t want to leave it that way.
Butch Wilmore and Sununi Williams should only fly into space for a few days. But the stay for the two US astronauts was considerably lengthy: they have been sitting on the international space station for almost ten months. So far, they have not been able to return due to technical problems.
Elon Musk, however, has a different reading of the course. In an interview with the television station, which the billionaire had given together with US President Donald Trump, he claimed that the bidding government had “left the astronauts up there for political reasons”. Trump agreed: “He wanted to leave her in space.”
Musk said he offered to help with his space company SpaceX to return the astronauts. Biden did not give his approval for this. An assertion that Andreas Mogensen, an experienced astronaut from Denmark did not want to accept. On X he vehemently contradicted Musk: “What a lie. And that of someone who complains about lack of honesty in the mainstream media.”
Danish astronaut and Elon Musk argue about ISS crew
Mogensen was the first Dane in space in 2015 and was involved in two missions. Particularly piquant: in 2023 he was part of a mission that was carried out with a rocket from Musk’s company SpaceX. At that time he spent almost half a year on the ISS.
Now he clashed with a musk. The billionaire described him on X as “completely left” and as “idiots”. He was able to bring the astronauts back months ago. However, the bid administration rejected its offer. There are no evidence of this.
Due to technical problems with the Starliner room capsule, which the astronauts were supposed to bring back to Earth after eight days, NASA had decided to let the capsule fly back unmanned. Wilmore and Williams are to come back with two astronauts from the so -called crew 9, which arrived at the ISS at the end of September.
Elon Musk: His companies, his family – the richest person in the world in pictures
Elon Musk was born in 1971 in Pretoria as the son of the Model Maye Musk and the mechanical engineer Errol Musk. His father raised him with merciless hardness. The parents divorce early. Elon Musk is exposed to an introverted child and bullying. At the age of ten, he teaches himself to program, two years later he sells his first computer game he developed for $ 500. At the age of 17, he wandered to Canada, where his mother originally comes from to avoid military service in South Africa. Soon afterwards he goes to the USA, where he studies physics and business at the University of Philadelphia. The photo from the sandpit shared Elon Musk’s mother Maye on Twitter and jokingly wrote: “The three -year -old Elon Musk: ‘I can build a truck that is better than this’.”

NASA rejects rumors about political influence
Astronaut Mogensen also pointed out Musk on this. The plan for the return of the two Americans has almost been standing since September: “You know that just like me.” “Even now they don’t send up a spaceship to bring them home,” he confronted the SpaceX boss. Behind it is the accusation that Musk and Trump will talk about a return campaign for the astronauts, but do not implement them – probably because NASA has different plans.
The US room trip authority had always emphasized that politics had no influence on the extended stay of the astronauts. It was only about security concerns Wilmore and Williams recently made it clear in an interview with CNN that they did not feel “left behind”. Rather, they are “prepared and committed”.
Donald Trump announced at the end of January that he had asked Elon Musk to get the astronauts back earlier: “They have been waiting for the space station for many months. Elon will soon be on the way. Hopefully everyone will be sure. Good luck, Elon!” He did not provide any information at the time.
