TV legend strikes against Markus Lanz

In a laudation on Günther Jauch, Thomas Gottschalk divides against his former “Wetten, dass ..?”-successor Markus Lanz.

Even if Thomas Gottschalk (74) recently indicated one time or another due to dubious statements: he has obviously still not lost his sense of quick -witted punch lines. The entertainer showed this in Munich on Saturday evening when he awarded his friend and colleague Günther Jauch (68) the Karl-Valentin Order of the famous Carnival Society Narrhalla. In his eulogy, Gottschalk not only lovingly took the winner on the shovel, but also told other celebrities.

For example, Gottschalk, for example, smugly alluded to a recently caring campaign by Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (58, CSU), at which he kneeled in front of actress Uschi Glas (80). Last year Söder was supposed to hold a laudation on him, but then sent a representation, said Gottschalk. The reason from his point of view: “Markus Söder wanted to pick up the knee for Uschi glass.” Jauch, on the other hand, testifies to his honor by personally standing on stage – and not pretending to his colleague Markus Lanz (55).

Alluding to “Wetten, dass ..?”-Takeover

“I deliberately avoided Markus Lanz tonight. That was, as you know, that went wrong,” Gottschalk went one step further. The allusion was clear: in 2012 Lanz had the moderation of “Wetten, dass ..?” taken over by Gottschalk – a risk that failed after only two years due to falling odds.

The honored Jauch himself naturally got his fat away. Gottschalk jokingly attended him a “certain quirkness” and cheekily stood up during the laudation himself on the place reserved for the award winner. But Jauch did not miss the steep templates and routinely countered the humorous exchange of blows.

Humor as a basis for good friendship

The “picture” then revealed Jauch that humor in his eyes has a healing, connecting effect – also in relationships. “There would be significantly fewer marriages if you solve tense moods with humor,” said the 68-year-old.
