Rock? Pop? Reggae? What does British King Charles III hear? In the radio show “The King’s Music Room”, the Monarch reveals music that gives him joy.
Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Davido and Raye – British King Charles III. Share music in a show that he personally enjoys. In the radio format “The King’s Music Room”, which will be broadcast next Monday at Apple Music 1, the monarch also tells anecdotes of encounters with some of the artists, as reported by the Pa news agency.
“Music has meant a lot for me all my life. I know that this is also the case for many others,” says the 76-year-old. Music has the remarkable ability to bring out happy memories from the depths of memory, to comfort in times of sadness or to “kidnap us to distant places”.

On the side of his wife Camilla the “London Clinic” in Marylebone, where he could be treated for an enlarged prostate. But on Monday evening, February 5, the Buckingham Palace announced that the king was ill.

The “music room” by King Charles
The most important thing is that music brings joy, said Charles. “This is what I particularly wanted to share – songs that I enjoyed.” The program can be heard on the Commonwealth Day, where the community of states is celebrated. The playlist artists mentioned above come from the Commonwealth or have corresponding family connections.
The Commonwealth in its current form has existed since 1949, the members are mostly earlier colonies, but they are increasingly involved in countries that were not part of the British Empire. In part of the Member States, King Charles is still formally head of state, such as in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and several island states in the Caribbean.
