Two weeks after Michelle Trachtenberg’s sudden death, her legacy was recognized at a demonstration of her last film.

A little more than two weeks after her tragic death at the age of 39, US actress Michelle Trachtenberg (1985-2025) was honored when her last film was presented. In the screening of the documentary “Spyrral” as part of the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, producer Jennifer Hutchins recalled the deceased artist and praised the “difference” that she made in the life of many people in front of and behind the camera.

Moving words for a special artist

“I had the pleasure of working with Michelle on ‘Spyrral’. I never thought …”, an visibly emotional hatchins began her speech before the demonstration. “I never thought that this film would be her last work.”

Hutchins revealed that after Trachtenberg’s death, she was contacted by the “national press”, which asked about details about the state of health and the well -being of the star on the set of the 2024 film. Instead of illuminating personal battles, Hutchins emphasized that they would rather remind Trachtenberg’s performance in “Spyrral” and how they “made a difference in the awareness of mental health”.

Trachtenberg had been selected for the documentary to read out excerpts from Michelle Cody White’s diary, the late wife of Randall White, who fought with non -diagnosed bipolar depression. The actress had already taken the voice recordings in 2021, but “Spyrral” celebrated its premiere until 2024 due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

“Michelle Trachtenberg became Michelle Cody White”

“Michelle Cody White gave her her voice to tell her life story. And while she was in the room, she became Michelle Cody White,” Hutchins explained to the audience. The producer emphasized that Trachtenberg’s language recordings were so urgent that they stirred the film team to tears. “We had to take every break, we had to wipe away all tears, and you can hear their breath, you can hear the tremble while reading very intimate letters, diaries and journals by Michelle Cody White,” said Hutchins.

Before the demonstration began, the producer initiated a 45-second minute’s silence for Trachtenberg and warned the audience that “Spyrral” was a “difficult to see film”.

The demonstration on Wednesday, which was redesigned at short notice to honor Trachtenberg, took place to support non -profit organizations for mental health. The “Spyrral” production team also strives for a sales contract to enable the project to have a broad publication.

In an interview with “TMZ” Hutchins Trachtenberg described as “one of the sweetest, meek people I have ever got to know”. She added: “I could feel that she looked after people very much and wanted to use her voice for the bigger one.”

Outrage at the Oscars

Hutchins’ honor comes less than two weeks after Trachtenberg was not mentioned in the “in Memoriam” segment of the Oscar Awards. Fans also criticized the Academy for not having taken up the Academy like Tony Todd, Shannen Doherty, Martin Mull and Linda Lavin for the tribute for those in the industry that had died since the event last year.

“Have you really not included Michelle Trachtenberg in the ‘in Memoriam’ of today’s Oscars? That is tasteless,” wrote a user about the actress born in New York City, who had retired from the show business in recent years due to her health problems.

Trachtenberg gained celebrity from the film “Harriet the Spy” (1996) and later appeared in popular TV series such as “Buffy – in the spell of the demons” and “Gossip Girl”. Her other films included “Inspector Gadget” (1999), “Eurotrip” (2004), “Black Christmas” (2006) and “17 Again” (2009).

On February 26, the actress was found lifeless in her apartment in New York City after getting a liver transplant last year. Trachtenberg is said to have fought with increasing health problems in their last days.
