King Charles and Queen Camilla have returned from Italy. At home you are now supposed to plan a quiet Easter.
King Charles (76) and Queen Camilla (77) returned to Great Britain after visiting Italy. If the royals have landed in Scotland and are now looking forward to a quiet Easter. In Italy, the royal couple spent four eventful days, including state banquet. Charles and Camilla also celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on April 9th in the southern European country.
King Charles also spoke in front of the parliament in Rome. Finally, on Thursday, visiting a Food Festival was also on the program. The royal couple was in Ravenna and, according to media reports, also met with farmers whose harvests suffered from devastating floods.
Pope visit by Camilla and Charles
A highlight of the Italian trip should have been the private pair for the royal couple with Pope Francis (88). The meeting of Charles, Camilla and Francis confirmed the Holy Chair in a statement, according to “Vatican News”. “In the course of the meeting, the Pope expressed his best wishes for the wedding day and replied his majesty’s wishes for a quick recovery,” it said.
The meeting came as a surprise because an official appointment was canceled in March. Francis has a more than five-week clinic stay behind and apparently received the royal couple in the Casa Santa Marta in the Vatican, where he has recovered a little more than two weeks ago since his release from the Gemelli Clinic in Rome. The head of the church had been treated there since mid -February due to pneumonia.
The British king also had to go to a hospital for briefly, but only briefly, but only briefly because of the side effects of his cancer treatment, as the palace had announced. After the cancellation of some appointments, he soon returned to the public.
