King Charles and Queen Camilla were in a good mood at the Easter service in Windsor. Surprisingly, Prince Andrew was there.
King Charles III. (76) and Queen Camilla (77) together with other members of the royal family visited the traditional Easter service in Windsor. In bright sunshine, the monarch was in a good mood and waved the onlookers when he entered the historic St. George’s Chapel.
For the fair, Charles wore a dark blue suit with a light blue tie and thus fit perfectly to his wife. Camilla opted for a light blue costume with flower applications. To do this, she wore a wide -colored, broad hat with a large pitch as well as beige gloves and a beige handbag.
Prince Andrew also celebrates Easter
Surprisingly, Prince Andrew (65) also took part in the family event. It can be seen in pictures how the duke of York, who had fallen unadjusted – had to withdraw from his royal duties because of his connection to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein – behind his brother Charles. He also looked in a good mood and talked to the other family members with a smile.
Andrew usually stays away from public dates, even at the Christmas celebrations last year he had not appeared. However, the Easter service is more likely to be understood as a private family company than as a royal appointment. Also present were his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (65) and the two daughters Princess Beatrice (36) and Princess Eugenie (35) with her husbands.
Among the other participants in the service was Charles’ and Andrew’s younger brother Prince Edward (61) with his wife Duchess Sophie (60) and his son James (17). The sibling quartet completely made Princess Anne (74) with her husband Admiral Sir Tim Laurence (70).
Prince William’s family spends Easter in Norfolk
The heir to the throne Prince William (42) and his wife Princess Kate (43) as well as her three children Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6) were not present. The family spends the Easter holidays in their country house Anmer Hall on the royal estate of Sandringham in Norfolk.
“They decided to spend time as a family before the children go back to school,” reported a source from the family environment. Princess Kate is currently recovering from her cancer treatment and only perceives selected public appointments.
Strong Easter message of the king
This year’s Easter service was particularly important for King Charles. Shortly before the celebrations, the monarch had published, in which he spoke about the “paradox of human life” – the ability to “great cruelty and great quality”. In his message he emphasized the meaning of “faith, hope and love”, although he highlighted in the spirit of the Bible line: “But the greatest of it is love.”
Charles’ appearance on Easter Sunday marks another milestone on its way of recovery. Last month, the king had to be briefly observed in the hospital due to temporary side effects of his cancer treatment. His appearance in the Easter festivities last year was his first major public appearance after his cancer diagnosis.
