Treating Long Covid is a lucrative business. Lots of desperate people, big promises of salvation, few facts. However, two therapies hold great potential – for some of those affected.
Patients with Long Covid symptoms have symptoms such as chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, brain fog or palpitations. They find it difficult to find help. The waiting list at the Charité is also long. Can the doctors work through them gradually or are there still new cases coming up?
New patients are still coming, although slightly fewer than with the original virus variants. Nevertheless, there are still around 1,000 patients on the waiting list for our neurological Long Covid outpatient clinic. It can often take six months to get an appointment, unless it is really urgent. This is still an unsatisfactory situation for everyone involved.
