The runaways have been keeping the surrounding fire brigades on their toes for a day. It was around 11 p.m. on Friday when the teams from Strohheim, Prambachkirchen and Mayrhof-Reith were called to the animal rescue team. 13 cows broke through the pasture fence in the village of Schnellersdorf, eyewitnesses reported. In any case, it could be ruled out that the fence had been damaged by third parties. After the nightly search had to be broken off due to darkness, the volunteers tried again in the early hours of the morning.
Four still available
The escaped animals – according to the municipality, they are ten to twelve-month-old calves and oxen – are said to have even moved to the neighboring municipality of Prambachkirchen in the meantime. A large part of the cattle could be caught. Four pieces were still on the run on Saturday evening. It is assumed that they are in a rape field. There is “alert level 2”, as noted on the homepage of the state fire brigade command.
