“We want to create a contemporary format and look to the future. It’s about current fire brigade topics, training aspects and innovations on the market.” – Jürgen Hell, district fire chief in Ried

The district fire brigade command Ried serves a new event format with a specialist conference for emergency services and all interested parties on April 29th at the Ried trade fair: a specialist exhibition including lectures, demonstrations and cooperation with the Red Cross. Thanks to a mobile fire training system, respiratory protection teams can train on site.

There are already registrations beyond the region, according to district fire brigade commander Jürgen Hell. “We want to create a contemporary format and look to the future. It’s about current fire brigade topics, training aspects and innovations on the market.” “External” partners at the premiere are the Red Cross and also the Bavarian Red Cross; cooperation with the army is planned for next year.

The conference topics on April 29 range from “vegetative fire as a future challenge for the fire brigades” to “legal certainty in the preparation of operations and in emergencies”. Ried’s district rescue commander Andreas Hattinger gives a lecture on the Red Cross’s large-scale operation management and cross-organizational cooperation. Drone pilots report on their experiences, and a separate presentation is dedicated to fire protection myths and rumors that persist. The aspect of “PV systems as a new challenge for fire brigades” is also dealt with.

The latest fire service vehicles in the district can also be seen at the conference, and the Red Cross is presenting its modern equipment. According to observers, the new event format could also modernize the district meetings with their previous processes. Details on the lectures and the offer can be found at www.feuerwehrfachtagung-ried.at

Incidentally, as part of an exercise, the fire brigades in the Ried district recently devoted themselves to the topic of communication in the event of a blackout. Building on the findings of an exercise from the previous year, the aim was to eliminate communication gaps in order to be able to reach all fire stations by radio even if the usual network fails due to a lack of regular power supply.
