A month ago, the coordinator of the Institutional Cabinet of Canelones, Pedro Irigoinargued that the deputy Lereté has a “ruthlessness” with the mayor Orsi.
Between January and December 2022, the Executive Power made transfers by 122,785,487 pesos to Canelones for the improvement of the non-urban roads of departmental jurisdiction.
How is the operation that Lereté denounces
According to Lereté’s complaint, the Municipality would have received funds from the Office of Planning and Budget of the national government, for a rural road work between the towns of Tapia and San Jacintobut the tasks would not have been fully executed.
The deputy assured that he had found out about the situation through a neighborhood organization called Citizen Control Board with whom he held a meeting, and together with whom he will attend the meeting with Minister Falero.
According to Lereté, there are no controls on this type of works by the departmental government. And, among the irregularities, he denounced the existence of spare parts in which “half of the materials” necessary are used and where “it must be executed in its entirety and in the planned works.”
“We have been denouncing this irregular situation of the current administration of Canelones for a long time, but now it has very strong support in civil society,” clarified the legislator, who also commented that organized neighbors carried out controls on the amounts of coarse applied by truck and fox as well as the start times and breaks of the work.
