“woman for woman” Braunau: Consulting for 20 years

The Counseling Center “woman for woman” On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Braunau has reason to celebrate: 20 years of women’s counseling center “woman for woman” and ten years women’s transitional apartment. In 20 years of women’s counseling, a lot has been achieved and much has been improved, countless women have been supported, according to the Braunau counseling center.

But there is still a lot to do. “Because women and men are still not equal. Women earn less than men, women are much more affected by violence and poverty than men, to name just a few important examples. It is important to draw attention to this and create awareness in society. This is the only way to achieve an improvement here”says Margarethe Kröll, Managing Director of “woman for woman” in Braunau.

Support comes from Angelika Weinberger, the managing director of the Braunau culture house Gugg: “The task of (stage) art has always been to address social grievances and to hold up a mirror to both the decision-makers and the people. We are therefore pleased to be able to make our contribution as a cultural association and to be able to contribute our part to the organization of the Braunau Women’s Days as the organizer.”

“woman for woman” offers a varied program from March 5th to 11th: It starts with a literary women’s café on March 5th from 10 a.m., organized by the initiative “One World” in cooperation with the Catholic women’s movement in the Ranshofen parish hall.

A women’s breakfast will follow at 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8th at the meeting point “human and work” and a film evening from 7 p.m. in the Diesel cinema “Sun” by director Kurdwin Ayub. A reading brings together all interested parties on Thursday, March 9, from 8 p.m. in the Gugg: Mareike Fallwickl is served “The anger that remains”Doris Leeb brings “Iaz Owa” closer. On March 11th at 8 p.m. there will be cabaret in the Gugg “Alma Who?” to see with Maxi Blaha: a show about a woman who has gathered so many great men in her life and has always been neglected in historiography.

Anniversary celebration on March 10th

the real one “woman for woman”-The anniversary celebration will take place on Friday, March 10th, from 6.30 p.m. in the Gugg Kulturhaus. The celebrations will include a buffet, champagne reception, a ceremony and a subsequent concert from 8 p.m. with the fiery urban musicians from “Las Karamba”.
