The child had got out of a bus and wanted to cross the street behind the stationary bus. At that moment a car came towards them and couldn’t avoid it.
The accident happened on Friday around 5:20 p.m. in the village of Witzersdorf. At the bus stop there, the girl left the bus that was heading towards Niederwaldkirchen. At the same time, a 74-year-old man from the Rohrbach district drove his car towards Ortisei. He wanted to drive past the stopped bus when suddenly the girl crossed the road. The collision resulted in the 10-year-old being knocked to the ground and seriously injured. After first aid by the emergency doctor, she was taken to a children’s hospital, the police reported.
