Two more days until Austria’s oldest motor show opens its doors again: the Linz Auto Spring. The latest models from the automotive world will be on display in the Design Center for two days: from the purely battery-electric ID.3 from Volkswagen to the classic combustion engine Fiat Panda for 15,990 euros.
Even if petrol and diesel engines are still in the majority in the Design Center, the trend is clearly towards e-mobility. “There is great interest in electric cars,” says Christoph Günther from the organizer. “And also from a private perspective.”
Young brand there for the first time
A total of 199 new cars will be on display, of which 44 are purely electric models, 18 are plug-in hybrids and 37 are hybrids. The cars of the young Ineos brand, presented by Autohaus Baschinger, can be seen for the first time. Tesla was invited, but declined, as did Polestar. These two manufacturers are missing from Upper Austria’s most important and largest car show.
The Linz-based wallbox manufacturer Keba has a small stand. There, prospective e-car drivers can find out about the different types of wall boxes including connections. The ORF Radio Oberösterreich invites you to the “Ring-Toss-Game”, where skill is required and all kinds of prizes are awarded. The OÖ Nachrichten, in turn, is giving away a new Nissan Qashqai e-Power.
