“We’re making June the month of indulgence “says Sigrid Hackl from the Steyr Tourism Association and the National Park Region:” You come to Steyr to be spoiled with culinary delights.” “Tavolata “is the name of the culinary festival that was launched last year and presented by the OÖN. Even when it premiered, it was sold out at all 14 events over ten days. This year from June 7th to 17th there are a total of 15 pleasure experiences to choose from over eight days at 17 events.

The idea of seducing culinary delights in unusual places came from a co-production of the three Steyr master chefs Max Rahofer, Klemens Schraml and Lukas Kapeller together with the tourism association under the direction of Eva Pötzl and the travel and gourmet journalist Wolfgang Neuhuber. With the second edition, they want to surprise the audience with even greater variety. At the festival, the food is not cooked in the in-house restaurants, but at special events at selected locations: the range extends from a museum to a historic estate to the Steyrtalbahn and a gourmet brunch on an Enns raft. For the first time this year there will also be one” Junior Tavolata”in the Innerberger Stadel in Steyr and in the Bertholdsaal in Weyer. Around Steyr, the Schlierbacher Schmankerl-Roas, Klemens Schraml with the taste of the wilderness at the Weißenbach in Reichraming and pizza creations from the wood-fired oven in the Schaupp bakery in Maria Neustift inspire. Culinary city tours and enjoyment above the roofs of Steyr complete the program. However, the three master chefs will kick things off together on June 7th in the Kühberger & Haas design studio in the old Imperial and Royal steam power plant in the Wehrgraben.
