The Black and Blues defeated city rivals AC Milan after a furious start with two quick goals (Edin Dzeko/8th, Henrikh Mkhitaryan/11th) in the sold-out San Siro Stadium. The return match of the Milan city showdown will take place on Tuesday (9 p.m., Sky). Inter won the last final in the premier class in 2010 under the direction of Jose Mourinho.

The “Nerazzurri” played without a chest sponsor because, according to the Italian media, no money from the 85 million euro package with the cryptocurrency financial service provider “DigitalBits” is said to have flowed. The attempt to find a short-term replacement failed. But things are going sporty again at Inter. Nevertheless, coach Simone Inzaghi puts the brakes on the euphoria: “There’s still a bit to go before we can fulfill a dream we’ve had since August. The performance was extraordinary, the lads know what to do.” At AC Milan, the mood is subdued, but hope is still alive: “We need a big second leg,” said coach Stefano Pioli.
