The unknown had approached the 28-year-old at around 2 a.m. on Karl-Punzer-Strasse and demanded money from him with the words “Money, Money”. To do this, he waved a pointed object. The Steyrer handed out a 50 euro note, and the stranger fled. An immediate search was unsuccessful.
The police are now asking for information: The suspect is around 175 cm tall, very slim, wore dark shoes, a dark hoodie and dark pants, and also a white jacket with a golden emblem on the chest. The victim describes him as having a dark complexion and a slight growth of beard. The man is said to have spoken in poor English.
Witnesses are asked to contact the Steyr Stadtplatz Police Inspectorate on 059133 4146.
