The dialect term “trüfeln” stands for informal chatting. Being able to chat with someone is exactly what many lonely people long for and what they have not been able to get from official sources – not from crisis hotlines, because they are only there for emergencies, and not from mobile services, either yes Doing housework, personal hygiene or shopping as quickly as possible.

On the initiative of the city’s social committee, six volunteers will close this gap in Gmunden from June. They will take turns on duty and pass the truffle telephone on to one another. They dribble with everyone who calls them, creating well-being. The Trüfel telephone is manned from Wednesday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It has the number 0676 /88 794 794. We are still looking for more volunteer trufflers.

Not only by phone, but also in face-to-face encounters, the city creates places where you can get truffles: on the esplanade and on the landing stage, benches are signposted and designated as truffle benches. Anyone who sits on it signals that they want to talk to someone and are open to any kind of conversation.
