May 18th was a very special day for the mayor of Hofkirch, Nicole Zehetner-Grasl – for a private reason. The 27-year-old married her partner Stefan, and the youngest mayor in Austria is now called Thaller.
“Of course, many community members asked me about the wedding and wished me congratulations. Of course, one or the other is also curious, would like to see the dress or would have liked to have attended the celebration. It was still important to me that our wedding should only take place with close family and friends, because it’s a very personal moment for us as a couple,” says Thaller.
“A day full of joy, love and emotions”
She is aware that many have to get used to their new last name. She thinks the name “Thaller” is very nice, the local manager explains her decision, and her last name is now shorter and therefore more practical.
The wedding celebration took place in the neighboring town of Hofkirchen at the wedding farm Huber zu Laah in Wolfern. The groom stepped in front of the altar in the pilgrimage church in Maria Laah in leather pants, the bride wore an ivory wedding dress with lace. “It was the best day of our lives, even if the weather didn’t play along at the beginning and we were photographed in the rain at around 10 degrees. Nevertheless, your own wedding is a day full of joy, love and emotions. We are filled with happiness and thank our guests for the wonderful contributions and support on our wedding day,” says Thaller.
