CATFISH. The dimensions of the “VIO Plaza” project in Vienna-Meidling are huge. An office, residential, hotel and shopping complex with up to 16 floors for around 3,500 people is being built between the Rechter Wienzeile and Schönbrunner Straße. Wels-based eww Anlagentechnik is responsible for the entire energy concept.
“We do all the transformer stations, distribution, medium and low-voltage systems. In the hotel tower, we also do the entire electrical installation, right down to the last socket,” says eww division manager Markus Zeppetzauer. One challenge on the construction site is that the material deliveries have to be precisely timed and the building materials are brought into the building immediately because there is no space for them next to the construction site. With the completion date in September, the project is also tight in terms of time. Construction for the eww only started in January, since then work has been going on at full speed to implement the large-scale project.
A 250-kilowatt peak photovoltaic system will also be installed by MEA Solar of eww Anlagentechnik. The area is 2300 square meters, the modules are integrated in the facade and on the roof.
