Kremsmünster received the “Austrian Administrative Prize 2023” from the Federal Ministry for Art, Culture, Public Service and Sport for the project “Fully automated online media platform for communities”. It is a cooperation with the Linz tech company Newsadoo, Raiffeisen, Gemdat and GEM2GO. Among the 142 submissions from all over Austria, Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler’s project received an award in the “Innovative Service Design and Digital Services” category.
The project has been running live on Kremsmünster’s website and GEM2GO app since November 2022. Twenty other municipalities in Upper Austria have now implemented this solution as part of the pilot project. All relevant news articles from a municipality from various media such as daily newspapers and regional media, blogs from the region and also from social media are automatically brought together and integrated into the municipality’s website. The aim is to automate the exchange of news and information within communities on a daily basis and to involve all clubs, companies and organizations in the area without incurring any additional effort.
The municipal websites and apps should thus be used more intensively by the citizens and thus become the central hub for the municipality’s digitization measures. With the implementation of the official signature, the abbey won first prize years ago.
