One day after relegation from the 2nd football league, SK Forward Steyr reportedly broke up with the coach Daniel Madeler announced. A successor, who dares to restart in the regional league with the red and white, should soon be certain: “I want to clarify the coaching question this week, ideally,” says sports director Gerald Perzy. The current assistant coach Markus Eitl or ex-Micheldorf coach Hubert Zauner should be considered candidates.

In general, the Steyr sports director has a lot of work to do in the coming weeks: the past few years in the second division have not only exhausted the budget, but exceeded it. A similar minus as in the previous year (negative annual result of 496,000 euros) will remain from this season. The belt has to be tightened significantly – according to OÖN information, the upcoming budget should be similar to that of an Upper Austrian league. The planned construction projects, such as a new VIP club, are also being put on hold for the time being. Perzy: “There will be a radical cut. The savings must be made. We will start with a young, regional team.”
