The woman from the Kirchdorf district was walking on a sidewalk along the Pettenbacher Landesstraße L536 when the accident happened around 11 p.m. For inexplicable reasons, according to the police, the pedestrian suddenly got onto the road at the end of Vorchdorf. A 60-year-old car driver who was heading towards Pettenbach could not brake in time: his car hit the 49-year-old and she was thrown onto the street. The woman sustained serious injuries. She was taken to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck, the police said on Saturday afternoon.
