He Statistics National Institute (INE) announced the end of the in-person stage of the 2023 Census in Cologne and Saint José, Therefore, there are now 16 departments that completed the survey at both the rural and urban levels.
The announcement was made this Monday at a press conference by the technical director of the INE, Diego Aboalin the Mayor of San Joséaccompanied by the mayor Ana María Bentaberriamong other authorities.
Aboal explained that in Colonia and San José 100% of the addresses visited were completed, and that only the departments of cannelloni, Maldonadoand Montevideo.
In San José, some 50,700 urban addresses were surveyed, some 800 locations in group operations and another 8,650 rural points throughout the departmental territory. After Canelones, San José and Colonia are the departments that have the largest rural population in the country.
After the press conference in the city of San José de Mayo, the INE authorities traveled to Colonia del Sacramento, where they were received by the Colonian mayor, Carlos Moreira.
Once in Cologne, Aboal He stated that almost 80 census takers worked there, who had to visit some 81,300 homes, of which 8,600 were in rural areas.
