45% of the population would be inclined to sign for the plebiscite to repeal the social security reform that drives the PIT-CNT.
The percentage comes from the latest Cifra survey in this regard, where 30% of those consulted said that they would “surely sign” and another 15% that they would “probably sign.” The relay confirmed that 4 out of every 5 Uruguayans have already taken a position regarding the potential popular consultation promoted by the PIT-CNT.
On the other hand, the consulting firm revealed through Telemundo that 35% of the population was against signing for the plebiscite, and that 20% preferred not to give an opinion or indicated that they were unaware of the issue.
Half of the population between 30 and 59 years old was open to signing the PIT-CNT plebiscite
Among the age groups, 49% of people between 30 and 44 years old, and 50% among those between 45 and 59 years old, were open to joining the popular consultation promoted by the union center.
This proportion drops at the extremes of age, since 41% of those under 30 years of age, and another 41% of people aged 60 or over were willing to sign.
Almost 60% of Frente Amplio voters support the popular consultation
Regarding the parties, it was recorded that 59% of the voters of the Wide Front (FA) would support the popular consultation. Likewise, 45% of those politically undecided regarding the next elections in 2024 also supported the plebiscite.
In the ruling party, 28% of the voters of the National Party (P.N.) understands that the PIT-CNT plebiscite is convenient, while the voters of other member parties of the Multicolor Coalitionwould accompany 33%.
From the consulting firm, they stated that the first figures show that there does not seem to be a strong predisposition on the part of the population to repeal the law of the social security reform.
