The ÖBB announced this on Sunday. The connection between Ötztal and Bludenz has been closed since October 9th due to maintenance work. This also ends the rail replacement service on the route, in which, according to ÖBB, over 60 buses were in use.

A total of 18 million euros were invested in the measures on the Arlberg line this year, including, above all, the new track on the east and west ramps of the Arlberg line. Using large construction machines and up to 300 workers at the same time, around 11,000 sleepers and 15,000 linear meters of rails were replaced and 12,000 tons of ballast were installed.

In the Dalaas area (Bludenz district), the Lochwald gallery and the overhead line system were renewed, in the Strengen – Flirsch area the Maiswald viaduct was renovated, and in the Landeck – Pians area the dam was widened.
