A total of three cars were involved in the collision. While two adults sustained minor injuries, the girl was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said. At around 11:15 a.m., a 41-year-old driver from Bosnia-Herzegovina had to stop in the Schartnerkogel tunnel because of a traffic jam. A 54-year-old driver from the Graz-surroundings district crashed into the rear of the 41-year-old. A 53-year-old Croatian then drove into the 54-year-old’s vehicle.
In the 53-year-old Croatian’s vehicle, his eight-year-old daughter was in the passenger seat, and his 57-year-old wife was sitting in the back of the car. The 54-year-old Croatian and his wife were slightly injured in the traffic accident. An Alkomat test carried out was negative for all drivers.
The Pyhrnautobahn was closed in both directions in the area of the Schartnerkogel tunnel until 1:30 p.m. There was significant damage to the vehicles.
