The Israeli foreign minister, Eli Cohentoday congratulated the president-elect, Javier Mileifor his victory in the runoff and invited him to visit Israel to “strengthen relations” between both countries and “inaugurate” the Embassy of Argentina in Jerusalemone of the libertarian’s promises during his electoral campaign.

We look forward to working together with you to strengthen relationships between Israel and Argentina and deepen ties between peoples,” he wrote Cohen on the platform X (ex Twitter)accompanying the message with a photograph of the new president-elect raising the flag of Israel in one of his proselytizing caravans.

During his campaign, Milei had promised that if he was elected president he would move the Argentine embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The same proposal had been made by the former North American president donald trump, which did specify it; and the Brazilian Jair Bolsonarowhich ultimately did not.
