This primarily concerns pricing, says E-Control board member Wolfgang Urbantschitsch. “It remains a problem that everything associated with these products is too complicated.”
This is also reflected in the number of inquiries and complaints to E-Control on this topic. In 2023 there were 29 percent more inquiries and complaints compared to the previous year. Urbantschitsch did not give absolute numbers.
With regard to the change to the electricity price cap on June 30th, Urbantschitsch is demanding that electricity companies actively approach those customers who still pay more than 25 cents per kilowatt hour. According to the E-Control board, there will probably no longer be automated price changes as before in the future.
