Bernhard Haidler from “Nature in the Garden” invites you to the lecture “The little 1 x 1 of vegetable plant pre-growing” on Friday, February 23rd, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the St. Marien parish hall. Work on the vegetable garden begins in early spring: you start with sowing and pre-growing vegetable plants in the glass house or on the windowsill, thereby laying the basis for the harvest in the summer. This applies especially to the “southerners” from tropical South America such as peppers, aubergine and tomatoes. They are classic candidates who need a head start in development in the glasshouse or cold frame in order to be able to produce enough fruit. Especially if you want to cultivate your own favorite varieties that are hardly or not at all available as planting products in specialist stores, it makes sense to order a packet of seeds of your favorite varieties and cultivate them yourself.
