Exhibition “No Beautiful Land…Part 2” in Obernberg

Exhibition “No Beautiful Land…Part 2” in Obernberg
The exhibition takes place in the Kunsthaus Burg Obernberg.

Even during his studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Josef Brescher enjoyed sketching on site. “Classical drawing was still very valued and demanded back then,” says Brescher. For him, the Innviertel was particularly productive for his outdoor drawing exercises. “On the one hand, the landscape is very picturesque. It is reminiscent of the rolling hills that are also known from Italian painting of the Renaissance, and on the other hand, there were numerous places, farms, houses from which an almost magical magic of incipient decay emanated,” says the artistic director of the Kunsthaus Burg Obernberg.

Plants and hills

His ink drawings can be seen as an on-site recording of these complex structures, but also as a final tribute to these farms, huts and houses that are so magnificent, proud and fit into the landscape like plants or hills, whose time has now finally come. After the great success of the first exhibition “Kein Schöner Land” the sequel follows this year with the second part in the Kunsthaus Burg Obernberg. New ink drawings from the Innviertel can be seen. These are supplemented with older works that have never been shown before.

The opening will take place on Saturday, March 2nd, at 7:30 p.m. The exhibition can be visited until Sunday, March 31st. Opening hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On March 23rd (Obernberg Horse Market) the exhibition will be open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
