The brothers Dominik and Rainer Nimmervoll were the coaches in St. Martin for four years, and today at 8 p.m. the two will meet their former club, SPG Pregarten. “It’s a special game for us because St. Martin is still a club close to our hearts. It was the best and most successful time in the coaching business for us so far,” says Pregarten coach Dominik Nimmervoll. Today the Pregartners can’t give out any gifts, the third-bottom team in the Upper Austrian league table needs every point in the relegation battle. “We currently always have to play to win and collect points against relegation,” says Nimmervoll. But it won’t be easy against coach Andreas Luksch’s favorite team. Nimmervoll: “St. Martin has a top squad and is a well-rehearsed team. St. Martin can pose problems for any opponent in the league.”
Union Perg also needs a win tomorrow in the basement duel with ASK St. Valentin in order to gain some traction. “I expect a very intense game that will demand everything from us, we are well prepared,” says Perg’s coach Jürgen Prandstätter.
Tomorrow it’s derby time in the district league: Altenberg is challenging its arch-rivals Gallneukirchen in the local duel. The second derby takes place in Freistadt: Third-place Freistadt meets St. Oswald near Freistadt. Hofkirchen is aiming for the fifth win in the fifth game of the second half of the season tomorrow, the Wiesinger team will be guests at SV Haslach. “It will be difficult, Haslach is very strong at home, but we want to take at least one point,” says Hofkirchen’s section leader Martin Pirkelbauer.
