The Spaniard won on a Ducati after 19:52.682 minutes ahead of two KTM riders. His 19-year-old compatriot Pedro Acosta came second (+2.97 seconds), third Dani Pedrosa, who subsequently benefited from a penalty against Fabio Quartararo (FRA) and moved up from fourth to third place.
Quartararo received an eight-second penalty for insufficient tire pressure and fell back to fifth place. Marc Marquez fell while in the lead on one of the damp spots on the course. The six-time world champion ended up in seventh place. Martin, who had previously fought a leadership duel with Marquez, was able to break away and control the race from the front.
Martin thus expanded his leadership in the World Cup standings. Before the race on Sunday he leads with 92 points ahead of Acosta (63) and Enea Bastianini (ITA/59).
