In such cases, the organization recommends carefully storing the knocked-out teeth in a tooth rescue box. “Ideally, ambulances, sports clubs and schools should be equipped with such boxes wherever possible,” says the expert.
During initial surgical treatment, knocked-out teeth are gently cleaned and replanted. “The first goal is to preserve the traumatized teeth. Only if tooth-preserving measures have not achieved the desired result is dentures recommended,” says Jörg-Ulf Wiegner, President of the DGMKG.
