The Israeli army reported having recovered the bodies of three hostages who were in the Gaza Strip since the attack by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Israeli soil on October 7. The three died that day in the offensive that unleashed the war and were transferred to Gaza.
In a statement, they indicated that the bodies are of the French-Mexican Orion Hernandez Radouxfrom Israeli-Brazilian Michel Nisenbaum and from the Israeli Hanan Yablonka. All three were recovered in Jabaliya after a joint operation with the Israeli intelligence services.

Both Yablonka, 42, and Hernández Radoux, 32, were in the Nova music festival. For his part, Nisenbaum, a 59-year-old resident of the Israeli city of Sderotnear Gaza, was last contacted on October 7 when he was heading to a military base on the border to pick up his granddaughter.
The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahureferred to the recovery of the hostages’ bodies and said: “Together with the Israeli people, my wife Sara and I bow our heads in deep sorrow and embrace the grieving families in these difficult times.”
For his part, the French president, Emmanuel Macronexpressed in a message on the social network X his “immense sadness” for the death of Hernández Radoux. “France remains more committed than ever to the release of all hostages“he added.
The three deceased were part of the 124 people still held in Gaza, of the 252 kidnapped on October 7. The number of hostages now rises to 121of which 37 died, according to the Israeli army.
The other three hostage bodies that Israel recovered
Days ago, Israeli forces reported the rescue of the bodies of three hostages from the Gaza Strip. On that occasion, they were identified as Amit Buskila, Yitzhak Gelernter and Shani Loukthe young influencer who had gone viral the day of the attack on October 7.
