Which magnesium should it be?

Magnesium is available as capsules, tablets or granules. However, the type of magnesium salt is more important than the form, says the expert. “There is organic and inorganic magnesium. Some people do not metabolize the latter so well and react with mild diarrhea. If this undesirable effect occurs, it is better to switch.” In general, the body needs magnesium for every muscle contraction. “Anyone who does a lot of sport or does heavy physical work therefore needs more. People with cardiovascular diseases also benefit from it,” says Monika Aichberger, who also recommends magnesium to those who often suffer from tension.

Magnesium is also absorbed through food and it is quite possible to meet your needs with the help of food, says Aichberger. Good sources include whole grain and dairy products, poultry, fish, potatoes, many vegetables, soybeans, as well as berries, oranges and bananas.
