It was a time of hope and fear – but the weather held out, not a drop of rain marred the summer ball of the Johannes Kepler University Linz on Friday evening. And under the motto “Dance the Kepler”, the university campus was transformed into a ballroom with 2000 enthusiastic guests. “The JKU has returned to the dance floor with a completely new university ball. Our campus is also a place to celebrate and dance,” said the proud JKU Rector Stefan Koch.
The program also delighted many guests of honor such as Governor Thomas Stelzer, City Councilor Dietmar Prammer, Franz Harnoncourt, Managing Director of the Kepler University Hospital, Amalia Berger-Lehner, President of the Linz Regional Court, Angelika Sery-Froschauer and Leo Jindrak (WK OÖ) Joachim Haindl-Grutsch (IV OÖ), Stefanie Christina Huber, General Director of Sparkasse OÖ, JKU-ÖH Chairman Philipp Bergsmann and many more. The already well-known format “Your Prof is your DJ” brought students and professors together on the dance floor: Klaus Bretterbauer, Andreas Gruber and Martina Schickmair demonstrated their DJ skills. At midnight there was a surprise appearance: Rector Koch himself was at the turntables.
