“There’s a power outage, that’s why we’re standing out here,” says a woman on Linzer Landstrasse, as a crowd of people forms directly in front of the H&M at Taubenmarkt. They stand in front of locked doors until the doors can be opened again at around 1:50 p.m.
“We’ve had no power for 45 minutes,” says a worker from the fast food chain McDonalds, also on the Taubenmarkt. All employees are already outside the premises of the restaurant – for safety reasons. Inside, the screens are black, the lights are off. The power only returns at around 1:40 p.m. – “let’s check first whether everything is OK in the kitchen,” is the instruction to the staff.
